Reflection
Paul writes this from a prison cell. Whatever else it means, it is not a light instruction. He is not telling anxious people to feel less; he is inviting them into a specific habit: turn the worry into a request, and add thanksgiving on the way. Prayer does not always change the situation immediately. It almost always changes the person praying.
Practical Application
Take one worry you woke up with today. Say it plainly to God. Then, before you close your prayer, name one thing you are thankful for — even a very ordinary one. That small pattern is enough to begin.
